In 2022, we had an idea—a short story about a boy who loved football. That idea grew into a script, one we shared with friends who instantly fell in love with it. Tanko is a heartfelt and deeply relatable story about passion, hard work, and family. We don’t just love stories like this—we believe they have the power to shape the world and inspire the societies of our dreams.

Preparing for Tanko feels like gathering the Infinity Stones—great animation requires a great story, stunning art, compelling acting, and immersive music. But before any of that, it needs funding.

We’re not here to make a lackluster short film and pat ourselves on the back for being “Nigeria’s first.” We want to tell a story that’s truly worth watching—one that captivates, resonates, and stays with people. High-quality production isn’t just about visuals; it’s about pulling the audience into the world of Tanko and making them feel every moment. That’s why securing funding is essential.
Rather than rushing to studios and investors with just a script in hand, we want to show them what Tanko can become. To do this, we need two key elements: a story bible and a proof of concept.
The story bible will be a condensed document that presents the world of Tanko through art, moodboards, and a clear vision of its potential. Alongside it, the proof of concept will be a fully produced, high-quality short glimpse into the film, demonstrating the level of animation and storytelling we are striving for.
More than anything, it is important to us that this story is told by local artists—people who deeply understand the setting and can bring authenticity to Tanko.
Right now, we only have the script, and a small team has just begun work on the proof of concept.
This is where you come in.
